Mañanitas, a short film project is winner of Relatos Regionales

Relatos Regionales is a short film production category of Colombia's Film Development Fund (Fondo para el Desarrollo Cinematográfico), an entity governed by the National Council for Arts and Culture in Cinematography. It is a grant that strengthens the production capacity of the territories and allows for productions to be made in the different departments across the country.

Mañanitas, for its part, is a short film project based on a screenplay written by Santiago Chacón Narvaez, who will also serve as its director. Santiago is a Social Communicator from the Fundación Universitaria de Popayán, whom we know and with whom we have collaborated and participated in his three previously completed short films. This project was submitted to the Relatos Regionales grant, participating on behalf of the department of Cauca, and following the selection process, the jury deemed it a winner and worthy of the stimulus for its production.

The project is currently in the pre-production phase and is scheduled to be filmed in the first half of 2021 in the city of Popayán.
