Non-fiction series "Viajes sobre Ruedas - Vientos del Cauca" winner in the "Abre Cámara" call of the Ministry of ICT.

We are thrilled! After submitting several projects for this call and participating for several years, the non-fiction series Viajes sobre Ruedas / Vientos del Cauca, created by Makhino and written by screenwriter and director Daniel Egas—a graduate of the Social Communication program at Universidad del Cauca—has been selected. We first crossed paths with him thanks to the Popayán Short Film Festival, where we saw his productions. We then worked together on developing this series proposal, which explores Cauca across three valuable geographies and cultures of the department.

When we proposed the collaboration to Daniel, he was very enthusiastic and willing, demonstrating his full professional and creative capacity by writing the developed proposal and adequately responding to the particular needs of the Abre Cámara grant in its category of Production of new documentary series: magical places.

We are also pleased that other Cauca proposals have been selected in this grant call to realize their productions. In the Production of New Documentary Series category, the selected production companies are Viento en Popa Comunicaciones SAS with its project "De que las hay, las hay," Arcadia Cinema SAS with "Chirimeros," and Proa Latina with "La carga del el Rivel." Likewise, the Cabildo del Resguardo San Lorenzo de Caldono was selected in the Production of New Unitary Documentaries category with the project "Los colores de la resistencia," and the Asociación Casita de niños para la investigación y promoción de la educación infantil, an organization from northern Cauca, was selected in the Production of New Fiction Series category with the project Manigua.
